The “Little Hand Can Help” event take place at Siam Center on May 7 and will feature six projects aimed at helping six non-profit organisations.
“In the belief that students should be active in engaging in social responsibility, the Little Hand Can Help event is organised every year to encourage the students to gain hands-on public relations work experience while acting as a bridge that connects the Thai community to various non-profit organisations,” Chanon Sirithorn, chairperson of the university’s Department of Public Relations, explained.
This year, the projects are “Adopt A Dog” which aims to encourage people to adopt stray dogs from the Soi Dog Foundation, “Oldy Craft” to raise awareness of the need to care for the elderly and raise money by selling products from elders in the “For Oldy Project”, and “Hidden Notes” to promote a musical band from the Network of Music and Arts for Persons with Disabilities (NMAD).
“Voice Out” aims to create a set of educational audio books for the Bangkok School for The Blind, “Pill Please” looks to collect medicines to be donated to the Umpang Hospital Foundation, and “Check Breast Young” is designed to promote awareness in younger women about the importance of checking for breast cancer.
