Just another conspiracy theorist demonising the Jews

Just another conspiracy theorist demonising the Jews

Re: “To find out who rules you, ask who you can’t criticise,” Have Your Say, June 15.

JC Wilcox believes that only Donald Trump stands in the way of a Zionist takeover of the world. In other words, your correspondent is a right-wing conspiracy theorist who can typically swallow contradictory stances. On the one hand, he believes the Jewish Rothschild banking family aims to destroy Western civilisation, while apparently ignoring the fact that Jews are among Trump’s closest relatives and advisers.
There is no doubt that the historic Rothschilds have been a rags-to-riches success story, although independent research (not anti-Semitic rhetoric) has shown their financial power has been in decline for a century. None the less, the propaganda never lets up. One conspiracy theory is that the Rothschilds organised the sinking of the Titanic to get rid of rich American businessmen who were opposing the establishment of the Federal Reserve, which the Rothchilds wanted to control.
Another theory is that the Rothschilds masterminded the Holocaust to ensure the establishment of the Israeli state and to earn a sympathy vote in world opinion.  Yet another is that Trump’s real surname is Trumpstein – his birth certificate is a fake – and that his real job is to push the Zionist agenda. Not to mention the fact that Sir Evelyn Rothschild is the current financial adviser to the British royal family with secret agendas to make your hair curl.
I have no idea why The Nation prints so much anti-Jewish propaganda, which must be of minimal interest to most readers.  However, I would not like your keyboard warrior to think that we are all the naive zombies of his conspiratorial imagination.
