Tussauds making music ’round the world

Tussauds making music ’round the world

Madame Tussauds Bangkok, part of Merlin Entertainments, has officially unveiled its newly renovated Music Room with the concept of “World’s Music Fest” to take visitors back in time to revisit the legendary music happenings amid favourite stars.

“Madame Tussauds fans from around the world usually visit us to see their favourite celebrities,” says Noppadon Prapimpunt of Merlin Entertainments (Thailand), which operates the Bangkok museum.
“However, today, Madame Tussauds Bangkok is offering an even better experience. Originally a Music Room displaying artist figures and simple interactive activities, our new World’s Music Fest was successfully upgraded into a full show of new music sensations, festivals, concerts and shows.”
Divas Amita Tata Young, Sarunrat “Lydia” Visutthithada and Wichayanee “Gam” Piaklin attended the recent unveiling.
Guests were welcomed onto the red carpet of the Welcome Runway zone, where they were greeted by the wax figures of Tata and Sukrit “Bie” Wisetkaew, along with a surprise performance of “I Believe” by the real Tata.

Next, the guests boarded the Private Jet – the sleek prototype that not only takes them to famous music festivals around the world through interactive plane windows, but also offers photo opportunities with the best travel companions – the five members of One Direction.
Moving on to the FlashBack World Tour Concert, guests could practise their Moonwalk steps, or move along the top-hit world tour concert tracks side by side with Michael Jackson himself.
Visiting the Countdown Concert in New York’s Times Square, guests found themselves counting down once again to the New Year, along with Lady Gaga and Madonna’s well-known countdown concerts. The show was spiced up by the great “Bad Romance” covered by Lydia.
Guests were carried away by the Super Idol Concert featuring a parade of Beyonce’s top hits and the finale “Love on Top” show by Gam.
The Music Festival Tour then ended at the Backstage zone, delivering a superstar’s backstage experience, where guests could try on outfits imitating Katy Perry.
Madame Tussauds Bangkok is on the fourth floor of Siam Discovery. Admission is Bt990 (Bt790 for children ages three to 11).
