Jaspal goes for Japonism

 The finest Eastern and Western architectural and designs elements come together in the new collection from Jaspal Man, with modern silhouettes mixing artfully with classic design in a merging of styles that any guy will be proud to wear.
Among the guests joining the launch of “Japonism Meets Cubism” autumn-winter collection recently at the S31 Hotel were Tanik Puvanuttrai, Nondh Amranand, Atichai Poshyanonda, Seranee Charnvirakul and Athiwat Toothongkham.
The new collection underscores a new definition of silhouettes and shaping. Bigger volumes are shaped, cut and gathered in 3-dimensional ways, lending both comfort and a stronger, more powerful silhouette. Tailoring is as ever at the cutting edge and patterns have been added, bringing a sophisticated yet casual feel.
Japanese culture is the inspiration behind the design of formal wear, casual wear and activewear, and there are fun gimmicks in every piece, from sea waves to kabuki masks. The oversized kimono coat is instantly Japanese, while the main palette of this collection is black and blue, with bold red to represent Japan.
The formal look is versatile ranging from sleek to party-ready dapper. Key pieces include the Bamboo Jacquard Suit set and Evening Suit with Chinese buttons. Shirts have elements of Japanese origami. For footwear, there are pointy leather shoes and blue velvet shoes to complete the look, with leather bags made from high-quality materials for a touch of style. 
Men can take the formal look to another level with tailored pieces inspired by Japanese patterns and Italian tailoring techniques, featuring full lining and half lining. The jackets pair well with skinny trousers and bold shirts – stripe on stripe, Japanese floral printed or Chinese-collar.
Vibrant hues give a fun and exciting vibe to casual looks. Among the key pieces are a kabuki-printed sweatshirt and a blue knitted top with orange dots. Polo shirts are made with traditional Japanese textiles, using new techniques to achieve modern but classic silhouettes. For trousers, especially wrap and drawstring pants, bigger volumes allow better comfort and give a stronger and more powerful silhouette. The jeans in this collection are embroidered with sea waves, koi carp and have red tape sewn onto them to create a unique touch.
Oriental art is mixed with futuristic elements in the activewear range, to create comfortable and highly dynamic designs with a touch of classic Japanese painting elements, brushstrokes and texture. The check pattern is inspired by the kendo helmet, while the rope print draws on the sumo belt.
A rubber strap with Jaspal Man embossed on it is placed on the shoulders and fabric straps are used to decorate the tops, with premium nylon bags and matching sneakers completing the look.
