ThaiHarvest SOS, a foundation that salvages food that would otherwise go to waste, is hosting “Ugly Fruit: A Fruit Fundraiser” at Whiteline on Bangkok’s Silom Soi 8 tonight (September 29).

The foundation strives to eliminate waste by ensuring that good food doesn’t end up in landfills.

Tonight’s event will have music, drinks and other fun activities to promote awareness of food waste.

DJs Ro-Jaws, Lows and Boggie Ja will be cranking up the tunes as cocktails make the rounds with garnishes of salvaged fruit.

Admission is Bt500, or in lieu of that, you can bring along five non-perishable food items, such as canned foods, instant noodles and cereals.

Load them into a reusable grocery tote bag, in exchange for which you’ll get a free raffle ticket.

Some of the proceeds from bar sales will go to the foundation.
