Gyproc recognised for environmental standards

Gyproc recognised for environmental standards

Thai Gypsum Products, the first gypsum manufacturer in Thailand and he brains behind the Gyproc brand, has been awarded the Green Industry Award Level 4 (Green Culture) by the Industry Minister’s Department of Industrial Works.

The award was bestowed on the company for Gyproc’s industry-leading Laem Chabang manufacturing facility, which implements environmentally friendly processes in all aspects of its operations. This drive towards green operations became part of Gyproc’s organisational culture for social responsibility and transparency.
The criteria used the Department of Industrial Works to consider award winners include the organisation’s encouragement for all staff to work with environmental friendliness in mind until it becomes culturally ingrained. Gyproc’s operations always comply with environmental regulations to offer innovative solutions in response to today’s core challenges of growth, energy efficiency and environmental protection.
One of the outstanding projects under this initiative is the “Laem Chabang Recycling Project”, a community plant that was developed in conjunction with Gyproc. The plant produces concrete paving blocks from recycled residues to create production of tangible benefit to the local area.
Richard Juggery, managing director of Thai Gypsum Products, said: “On behalf of  everyone who works within our organisation, I would like to thank the Ministry of Industry for selecting Thai Gypsum Products Public Company Limited for this award. We intend to run our business by being socially responsible in developing construction and renovation solutions for professionals and customers to ensure buildings are energyefficient, comfortable, healthy, and aesthetically superior. We have a clear vision to preserve natural resources and reduce pollution in order to sustainably help with global warming issues.
