The Tourism Authority of Thailand is using social media and a creative package of promotions to support next year’s incarnation of the sparkling “12 Hidden Gems Plus” campaign.
Deputy governor Noppadon Pakprot recently announced the plans with Krid Pattanasan, business-relations manager of Thai AirAsia, and representatives of Nok Air and Toyota Motors (Thailand).
They’ll be encouraging domestic travellers to see the country during high season (January to April) and the so-called “green season” (May to September).
The “12 Hidden Gems” contest to be presented online in cooperation with Application One Map, Fuji and Samsung will urge travellers to check in at the 12 destinations to collect badges or complete missions to be eligible to win privileges and prizes.
It’s one of several promotions TAT Governor Yuthasak Supasorn says will highlight the uniqueness of each “hidden gem”, boosting domestic travel and tourism revenue.
“There will also be other activities launched under the concept of ‘less volume more value’ to focus on unique Thai local experiences, spotlighting each destination with a combination of other tourism marketing concepts,” he says.
