Gracious change of heart?

The above writer was confused that Andy Leiter recognised the Muslim character of East Jerusalem, while at the same time criticising the behaviour of Palestinians, in a previous letter. 
But rather than being confused, I, on the other hand, am shocked that Mr Leiter would actually recognise the rights of Palestinians in Israel.
The aforementioned individual has written many letters to both this publication and elsewhere in the past, where he decries what he perceives to be the penchant for extremism inherent in the Muslim religion. So the fact that he would actually admit that a part of Jerusalem belongs to the Palestinians, is a shock to say the least.
