Surakiart an old friend of Myanmar’s military

And who better than Surakiart to pass judgement on Myanmar affairs? In 2003, this Myanmar cheerleader and former Thai foreign minister applauded the SLORC dictatorship’s constitutional convention saying, “The process was initiated by the junta. That is the most important thing. No one knows better than the Burmese themselves.” Slight snag there – Suu Kyi’s NLD was excluded from the talks. Then in 2004, Surakiart had this to say of the bloodstained Burmese leader Soe Win, also known as “the butcher of Depayin”: “Soe Win is a nice and easy-going leader with an international understanding.”
Just the man one needs to chair the Advisory Board on the Implementation of Recommendations on Rakhine State!
