Poaching case stirs national conscience

Poaching case stirs national conscience

Re: ‘Many rich people’ poaching illegally despite better enforcement

Shows nicely how the rich and powerful see the country: as their private playground where they can do whatever they want.
It’s bad to use all your wealth and connection to get out of an accident (girl killing a van full of medical doctors and students, Red-Bull heir killing a cop, etc), but it is a new level of entitlement to knowingly break laws for your own pleasure.

How to ignore the law in Thailand – bribery. How else do Pattaya meterless taxi-drivers evade police attention?

There is no law when it can be sold and you can afford to buy it.

Many poor people also!
Theres no enforcement of any type. End of story. This is a one off.

ENFORCEMENT ... Thai authorities don’t know the meaning of the word. Too easy to look the other way, especially since those at the top of the responsibility ladder employ the same management maxim.

Yes, but lawfully its right (it does not feel right at all). But if you find one guy sitting and hear shots from an other direction you can’t prove the guy was hunting. Maybe that fingerprints on a gun are evidence, but then you can say he carried it.
I think for poaching you have to catch them in the act. I wish it were differently that you could just charge them for it because they had the animals.

Some low echelon dude will take/get the blame. Face is saved. Amen...

What has the word “junta” or the idea behind it, to do with this case?
Rich people, Sir, because of being rich, exert power.
Money is the greatest facilitator in the world, and nearly everybody has his/her price.
Anywhere in the world.
Got nothing to to do with the military led government, in fact, all of a sudden things are possibly changing.

No worries. The killer of this endangered panther will get a nice firm slap on his wrist...
Ahhhh, someone else pulled the trigger. Innocence proven. Case closed.

What a disgusting excuse of a person. The brand will never again be looked upon favourably.
