Is ‘international’ always a byword for self-serving conspiracy?

Is ‘international’ always a byword for self-serving conspiracy?

Re: “The clandestine New World Order”, Letters, March 11.

Simply because an organisation is international does not make it self-serving. The Red Cross does good work helping those who have become victims of conflict. The countries of the world are not clearly defined; there are border disputes and separatist movements. Even a well-established country such as the United Kingdom has been plagued by violence concerning the status of Northern Ireland. International efforts helped bring about the Good Friday Agreement to bring peace to the province, although it seems this agreement has now become threatened by Brexit.
Amnesty International does good work where individual nation-states violate the of their own citizens.
In November of this year the Parliament of the World’s Religions will meet in the beautiful Canadian city of Toronto. It is hoped that this meeting will spread divine love and peace throughout the world.
