Have compassion before you boil those bugs

After reading about villagers catching crickets for food, Sutipunt Bongsununt suggests that entrepreneurs raise insects and produce food that is high in protein, safe and tasty.
Safe? Well it certainly wouldn’t be safe for the crickets. And would they be killed humanely? My guess is that the majority would be cooked alive.
The reality is that there’s no need to harm any creatures in order to feed the world’s rising population because we currently produce enough food to feed 11 billion people. Unfortunately, the majority of it goes to feed livestock. All we need to do is to stop farming animals and we’ll have more than enough food to feed everyone.
