Frontrunner for spouse Nobel

I wish to apply for the Nobel Prize for Marriage, which is to be awarded “to men or women who have long suffered in difficult unions and stuck it out to the lugubrious end”.
Regular readers of this column will appreciate the many indignities I have suffered at the hands of my husband, Horace Beasley. Of course, I still love the big lout, but I do think I deserve a reward for my many years of stoic forbearance.
