Crime more cruel than punishment

Crime more cruel than punishment

Re: “Scenes from a Buddhist country: Put to death in a media scrum”, Have Your Say, June 21.

I have had enough of those who are against the death penalty, saying it is a cruel and inhumane punishment (to heinous crime offenders, not normal citizens, mind you).
What about the victims and their families – do you have any things to say about them? Do you have any suggestions for how the victims’ families can heal their wounds? David Brown? Spokesperson, High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs? Don’t tell them to love, forgive and pray for the killers, stuff like that. It’s easy for you to say. I say, allow them to watch the execution if they want to.On June 18, Thirasak was executed (more like euthanised) by lethal injection for savagely killing a teenager and robbing his phone. His victim? A 17-year-old nobody. No name given and how he died was never mentioned in these letters. Probably cowering, struggling, writhing, screaming, wondering why he deserved this, while Theerasak was stabbing him, 24 times!
