Not all religions deserve disdain

Egon states that most atrocities are committed in the name of religion. First, not all religions can be tarred with the same brush. Genuine religions teach people good things. How are they then to blame for most atrocities? It is the same as telling me guns kill people. A gun has never killed anybody – people kill people. (The availability of guns in the US is a topic on its own, and the NRA is a terrorist organisation in my opinion.)
There are organisations disguised as religions that are in fact ideologies. However, liberals totally ignore the atrocities committed in the name of Islam and, as we have seen from Egon, the atrocities are blamed on religion.
