Shoes with that pull factor
Onitsuka Tiger releases a new collection of sneakers inspired by a tug-of-war
ONITSUKA TIGER brings style to your feet this rainy season with the new Tsunahiki collection that’s inspired by a tug-of-war competition shoe that was first introduced back in 1982.
The Japan Tug-of-War Union was created in 1980, and the first nationwide Tug-of-War competition was held the following year. The first generation Tsunahiki model was one of the first tug-of-war competition shoes ever made.
Tsunahiki Lava Orange and Oatmeal shoes
Based on the original unique design, a wide wrapped rubber outer sole has been left intact, with the revival offering improving cushioning through the addition of an Ortholite mid-sole. The original piping – stretching from around the shoelace holes to the collar – and eyelet design have also been left the same.
Tsunahiki Hiking Green and Glacier Grey sneakers
Different from the usual running, basketball or tennis sneakers, the latest Tsunahiki series comes in its original lava orange and oatmeal shades and also boasts four new colour palettes –glacier grey and indigo blue, hiking green and glacier grey, white and directoire blue as well as black and white.
A pair of the sneakers goes for Bt3,500.
