Lost in transitive action
Re: “Trump on course, admirers multiplying”, Have Your Say, August 25-26.
Please forgive me for being a pedant, but my original sentence was grammatically correct and this edit was not: “Somsak Pola says he is considering changing his political stance to join Alf Haupt, HHB, Michael Setter and I.”
The last word should have been “me” – accusative case following transitive verb. “To join him” and “to join me” are correct. “To join he” and “to join I” are incorrect.
