Men falling victim to double standards in ‘battle of the sexes’
Perhaps someone can explain why Thai society considers it perfectly acceptable for a woman to falsely claim in public that a man has made her pregnant (“Mynk confesses: my pregnancy was a big lie”, September 5) thus causing him considerable financial and reputational harm, and yet walks away from the matter without punishment.
At the same time, their male counterparts are being crucified by the press, public and the law for the merest hint of improper behaviour towards women. A case of some members of society being seen as more equal than others in the eyes of the legal system?
