What medical marijuana treats and why Thailand is right to legalise it

Re: “Marijuana for medicinal use ‘within eight months’”, The Nation, September 26.

I really hope this happens. My daughter suffers from seizures, and the medications that she takes for that really slow her down. I’ve heard great things about medical cannabis from those who have tried it in the States.

I had a friend who suffered fits all the time except when we were smoking and then he was just like any other healthy person. I do believe it will help her.

I recommend watching, on Youtube, the CNN documentary “WEED” (four episodes) presented by neurosurgeon Dr Sanjay Gupta. He explains that children with seizures can be helped a lot with cannabis. A niece of my Thai wife is now a young adult who became brain damaged from seizures as a baby. If cannabis had been given to her then, she may now be a normally functioning adult.

Will cannabis help for joint pain and muscle pain? Or will that part of the drug be removed?

Cases of chronic pain or acute pain can be treated with marijuana oil extract. Especially useful for those patients suffering severe illness and in their final stages of life. I feel that smoking marijuana should still be banned so as to save the future generation of kids.
