Issey Miyake is celebrating the 10th anniversary in Thailand with 300 limited-edition W Thailand timepieces that come in one-of-a-kind inspired colours in both W regular-size and W mini smaller-size.
This exclusive series includes the 43mm W New Day watch with its dashing Prussian Blue colour taken from the “Morning Blue Hour’”– a short period of time just before the appearance of the rising sun. The shiny metallic centre second hand adds to its elegant look.
The 39mm W mini Dazzling Night takes inspiration from the gold in Thailand’s architecture, religious art and culture that represents the prosperity of the Kingdom.
Elegant and shiny Rose Champagne Gold has been used on the dial’s inner ring, markings and hands and perfectly combines with the classy all-black case, dial and bracelet.
The W series was launched in 2012 and produced in collaboration between the Issey Miyake Watch Project and the internationally renowned car and product designer Satoshi Wada, who has worked on many automotive series for the German manufacturer Audi.
The faces and cases of this series feature various design elements inspired by automotive dashboard instrumentation and aluminium wheels, with the dials reflecting the traditional Japanese pursuit of minimalist beauty – efficient, clean and balance.
