Biased mainstream media letting readers do their dirty work

Biased mainstream media letting readers do their dirty work

Thailand’s two English-language newspapers are allowing regular letter-writers to name-call people they disagree with.

For those of us who think a little differently from the mainstream corporate media, it seems like the newspapers and the name-callers go hand in hand. Through these regular letter-writing “proxies”, the papers are able to say what they cannot say by other means.
Those who present alternative views have been called Russian trolls or Putin apologists, despite backing their opinions with many different sources and having no connections to Russia whatsoever.
I once enquired whether one of the name-callers is a US troll, since he fronts an organisation in Thailand financed by the US-funded National Endowment for Democracy and pours out letters whenever anybody criticises the US. My letter was never published.
Sad to see, the media around the world seem to be more and more biased.
