Border provinces are ‘occupied’ for good reason

Border provinces are ‘occupied’ for good reason

Re: “For many the presence of govt troops is a constant reminder that the historical homeland is now occupied territory”, The Nation, January 10.

Why is it occupied? For the protection of the local population. One cannot imagine the South without the army. What has fuelled the recent flare-ups? The visit of the Malaysian PM, who stated openly that injustice was the problem. Of course, he would say that – he is also a Muslim, and blood is thicker than water. How many insurgents are hiding in his country? Don Pathan writes, “Don’t treat them as criminals!” They are murdering thugs of the worst kind. This is an Islamic insurgency. Show them weakness at your peril.
