Sansiri joins such famous brands as Gucci, Louis Vuitton, H&M and Microsoft among partners of the United Nations children’swelfare agency.
The stars of “Sansiri: The Art of Joy” were its Social Change Ambassadors, Kavita “Pleang” Chindawath, Pitta Na Patalung and Sornsin “Manow” Maneewan.
They and others set out to raise awareness and encourage people to provide opportunities to underprivileged children, beginning with an auction of pattern designs and illustrations by Belgian artist Sarah Corynen.
The child-like artworks done with pencils and markers are vividly coloured, representing liveliness and youthful imagination.
Among the winners was Chaiwat Nantiruj, CEO of Eka Pak, who took home “Firework Bird”.
“I love art auctions,” he said. “Every piece has its own value. I bid for ‘Firework Bird’ because my daughter loves animals. The auction to help children is such a great idea. I also want to give more opportunities to other children around the world to live better lives and grow up more happily.”
Several celebrity guests brought their children along and had a giggle watching them frost cookies and create postcards.
And the setting was a beautifully decorated, shady garden where guests could take their time admiring the artwork and choosing the pieces they liked best.
