School uniforms crucial for a social fabric torn by inequality

Nigel Pike is absolutely correct in his argument regarding school uniforms. They are, indeed, a great social leveller, and spare kids from disadvantaged backgrounds the ignominy of having to face cavernous social cleavages brought about through no fault of their own.
