Thai politics loses last vestiges of integrity, principles and ethics

Re: “Thanathorn suffers setback in court”, Front page, May 24.

Thai politics reached its nadir when the last vestiges of integrity, principle, ethics and morals were thrown out the window for the sake of political expediency.
The Democrat and Bhumjaithai parties totally reneged on their pre-election promise to oppose the junta-inspired Phalang Pracharat Party for the sake of a few ministerial portfolios and disregarded those people who voted for them in good faith.
As far as the Democrat Party is concerned, it needs to find a new name because it clearly demonstrated it doesn’t care about democracy one way or the other.
The only person in this whole venal morass with any integrity left is Mingkwan Sangsuwan, who resigned as leader of his leader, apparently in protest at it going back on its election vow.
And I haven’t even begun to talk about the shameful treatment of Future Forward boss Thanathorn Juangroongruangkit.
