Nation newspaper could be saved with weekend-only edition
So I hear that this publication will cease printing newspapers and become wholly a digital enterprise at the beginning of next month.
Not surprisingly, many have voiced their displeasure about this sad state of affairs.
Nonetheless, from the standpoint of environmentalism, the decision to stop printing newspapers is an enlightened one, as it is sure to save many trees from being cut down.
However, in order to ease the transition, I suggest that those in charge of The Nation print a weekend edition. Even though we live in a digital age, the fact remains that the printed word still remains an important part of world affairs. By printing at least one paper a week, The Nation will still be considered to be a “real newspaper”.
