Energy war is latest destructive policy in White House pipeline

In another ugly international move by an administration desperate to protect and pursue its own interest, Donald Trump says he’s considering slapping sanctions on the Nord Stream 2 pipeline from Russia to Germany, after Republican Senator Ted Cruz (Texas) filed a bill last month that would impose sanctions on vessels used in building the pipeline.

The US argues that Russia may use the energy supply as a weapon, but the reality is that Washington is seeking to displace Russian pipeline supplies to Europe with US exports of liquefied natural gas.
Perhaps Trump will tell the world that his reason for stopping the project is because he afraid the Russians may send poison gas to Europe through the pipeline instead of natural gas? Why not? When Trump brags and lies, there is always a bunch of “stable geniuses” out there who agree with him.
