The first day of the new school term at Uthai Thani Kindergarten was filled with smiles as parents dropped off their children at the school gates. Adding to the excitement, teachers dressed as “Moo Deng”, the adorable baby hippo beloved by students, sat in a tub of water near the entrance to welcome the children.
The school also handed out 400 raffle coupons to the first 400 pupils, giving them a chance to win one of 50 Moo Deng plush toys.
While many pupils were thrilled by Moo Deng’s presence, some were startled and rushed back to their parents for reassurance!
