In an interview with The Nation, People’s Party spokesperson Parit Wacharasindhu said his party was ready for anything now that its rival Pheu Thai Party’s patriarch, ex-PM Thaksin Shinawatra, has entered the electoral battlefield.
.
For the first time since his return to Thailand last year, Thaksin took to openly campaigning for Pheu Thai’s candidate, Sarawut Petchpanomporn, at the election for Provincial Administrative Organisation (PAO) chief in Udon Thani.
.
Parit said that though he expects to see Thaksin more involved in Pheu Thai’s campaigns leading up to the 2027 national election, his party remains unfazed.
.
The Udon Thani PAO election is in its final stretch, with voters casting their ballots on Sunday.
