“Obj: Objects as Art” (Obj.Thailand) invites art lovers to experience creativity beyond the traditional gallery setting. This unique event transforms over 39 hotel rooms into immersive showcases of design and craftsmanship, each curated by a different Thai artist or designer.
.
Taking place at The Salil Hotel Riverside in Bangkok’s Bang Kho Laem district, visitors will discover art in a new light — not confined to canvases, but expressed through everyday objects reimagined as works of functional beauty. From artisanal crafts to contemporary pieces, each room becomes a living gallery, blending utility with aesthetics.
.
The focus is on modern Thai craftsmanship, spanning multiple disciplines and styles. Many pieces are not only collectible or decorative but also serve a practical purpose, enriching everyday life with artistic flair.
.
Beyond the visual feast, the event also features session talks and business matching, where attendees can gain insights into design trends, marketing, production and collector perspectives. It’s an opportunity to delve deeper into the stories behind the artworks and explore the broader landscape of interior and exterior design in Thailand.
.
Obj.Thailand runs from May 23–25, from 11am to 9pm daily. Entry is free. Visitors are encouraged to take the BTS to Saphan Taksin station, followed by a short motorcycle taxi ride to the venue. Parking is also available for those arriving by car.
