A new exhibition at River City Bangkok invites visitors to reflect on emotional connection, solitude, and silent support through the character “Na-Ning”—a quiet figure symbolising empathy and presence during life’s highs and lows.
.
Titled SubJaiPaiGubNaNing, the exhibition runs from June 28 to July 13.
It was created by television network ONE31 in collaboration with Thai artist Somnuek Klangnok (Kru Parn), who originally designed Na-Ning for the TV drama "9 Years of You". The character became popular among fans for its comforting, wordless presence within the series.
.
The exhibition builds on that idea by creating a space where visitors can pause, take a breath, and tune into their own emotions. Spread across five zones, it’s designed to feel like a quiet sanctuary—somewhere you can simply be with your thoughts. Whether you’re carrying sadness, joy, loneliness, or hope, it’s a place that gently reminds you it’s okay to feel it all.
.
According to the organisers, the event was conceived as an extension of the show’s emotional themes and is part of a broader effort to explore mental well-being through storytelling, visual art, and pop culture. Rather than offering direct guidance or messaging, the space encourages self-reflection and invites visitors to consider who—or what—serves as their own version of Na-Ning in life.
.
The exhibition also includes Na-Ning-themed merchandise, limited-edition art toys, and collaborative drinks developed with dessert cafe After You. Entry is free of charge. The event is part of an ongoing trend in Thailand’s art and media scene where popular fictional characters are used to address deeper social and emotional issues in accessible formats.
