Hungarian arrested in death of fellow countryman

Phuket police on Wednesday arrested a Hungarian man, Moshe David, 38, in connection with the alleged murder of a compatriot, Joseph Peter Reisz, 47.

They said Reisz’s body was found on November 30 dumped in a rubber plantation in the Patong mountain range of Phuket's Kathu district.
Police said the wanted man was apprehended while withdrawing cash from an ATM machine in Bangkok’s MBK Mall at noon on Wednesday.
Provincial Police Region 8 chief Pol Lt-General Yongyuth Chareonwanich said it was suspected that David was preparing to flee the country. He sent police officers to take David back to Phuket for prosecution.
Phuket police chief Pol Maj-General Chote Chawalwiwat said police had also applied for a warrant for the arrest of a Hungarian-Thai man, Kvalka Lajos Gyoergy, 48, in connection with the case.
Police believe he participated in disposing of the body to conceal the crime, following a search of a house which David reportedly rented on November 23-24 in Muang Phuket.
