Thai pair killed by lightning in US
Foreign Ministry yesterday confirmed a Thai married couple - later identified as Chiang Mai University's engineering lecturer Aram Kawewong and dentist wife Ratchaya Tantranon, both 30 - were killed by a bolt of lightning near the Grand Canyon National P
Ministry spokesman Manasvi Srisodapol said there were three victims – the couple and an American boy, who was wounded and that Thai Consulate Office had contacted the victims’ relatives in Thailand.
Teerapat Wannarumon, Assistant President for Community Relations at Chiang Mai University (CMU), offered condolences to the victims’ families and mourned the loss of the institute’s high-capacity personnel.
