France provides $109m for fight  against Aids, TB and malaria

France has recently contributed US$109 million (Bt3.5 billion) to help Thailand in its fight against HIV/Aids, tuberculosis (TB) and malaria, the French embassy's press section reported yesterday. Of the contribution, $59.3 million was allocated for HIV/A

The French president has recently said that he would renew the annual 360 million euro (Bt16.11 billion) contribution to the Global Fund to fight Aids, TB and malaria for another three years. France had been granting more than $4 billion to partner countries through the global health initiative UNITAID and the Global Alliance for Vaccination and Immunisation. 
France has also provided 95,283 euros for two expert missions with Chiang Mai University, 611,000 euros for a research programme on malaria therapy in Mahidol University and another 850,000 euros for a vector tolerance survey involving Kasetsart University.
