Thai, Malaysian police agree cooperation

Thai and Malaysian police yesterday agreed to work together to prevent and suppress transnational crimes during their 23rd annual conference in the southern island province of Phuket.

Pol General Somyot Pumpunmuang, national police chief, also presented 25 stolen vehicles that had been smuggled across to Thailand to his counterpart Khalid bin Abu Bakar.
The meeting, held at the Westin Siray Bay Resort & Spa, focused on eight key topics related to national security – terrorism, drug trafficking, human trafficking, crimes against life and property of residents along the ThaiMalaysian border, transnational vehicle thefts, economic and computer crimes, and piracy and crimes committed on waters.
They also discussed joint humanresource development.
