The suspect has been identified as Simon Jeremy Merington Briscore, 64. He owns several businesses in Chiang Mai province, where he settled last year.
“The two boys lodged a complaint against him,” said Pol Colonel Worapong Khamleu, a superintendent at the Provincial Police Region 5.
According to the complaint, Briscore refused to pay the victims Bt500 for sexual services. Police also found that the suspect’s male lover had recorded the intercourse for blackmailing purposes.
It is illegal in Thailand to have sex with persons below the age of 18 even if it is consensual.
Police said they found solid evidence against Briscore in his house and further investigation revealed that the suspect had engaged in similar offences in Britain.
