Myanmar participates in search of missing Thai footballers

The President Office Thursday released a statement that Myanmar would be participating in the search for missing young footballers in Tham Luang Cave in Chiang Rai near between Myanmar and Mae Sai District, Thailand since beginning of June 23rd.

The Myanmar government has urged the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Shan State Government Committee to join with Thai authorities and rescue teams in search for the group.

Myanmar rescue team was formed with local authorities, Fire Services Department, Red Cross Association and various civic organizations.

The missing children aged between 11 and 16 was accompanied by their 25 years old coach when they entered the Tham Luang cave in Chiang Rai in the afternoon of June 23.

Thai authorities believed that the missing youths may still be trapped in the cave as the main exit was blocked due to the heavy rain.

So, around 1,000 people including three foreign experts, military teams and Navy Seals have been carrying out the rescue activities until yesterday evening but no one has been found.

However, rescue attempts are hindered by difficulties due to continuous rain.
