Meir Slomo visited the cave, where 12 youths and their football coach have been trapped since June 23, at 9.30am.
Slomo said he had been invited by the Thai government to inspect how to provide assistance in the on-going efforts to drain floodwaters from the cave because Israel has expertise in water management and has provided support to the Thai government several times in water management.
The ambassador said he will coordinate with the Thai team there.
The ambassador held talks with Phayao Governor Narongsak Osotanakorn who has been in charge of the rescue operation since he was Chiang Rai governor. He just been transferred to Phayao but continues to head the operation.
