Thai cave rescue operation to be told in kids' book for middle-schoolers : US media

The dramatic and marathon cave rescue of 12 Mu Pa boys and their assistant coach will be told in a middle-grade nonfiction book, according to USA Today online.

The story of the team's entrapment and subsequent rescue – complete with happy ending – riveted the world.“Rising Water: The Story of the Thai Cave Rescue,” a non-fiction account, will be published on March 19, 2019 by Atheneum Books for Young Readers, a division of Simon & Schuster, the online reported.

Author Marc Aronson would seem well-equipped to tell the story. He’s also the author of the 2011 nonfiction middle-grade book "Trapped: How the World Rescued 33 Miners from 2,000 Feet Below the Chilean Desert."

Atheneum said “Rising Water” will tell the back story behind the complex, dangerous rescue operation by a team of international divers.
The boys, ages 11-16, became trapped without food by rising flood waters after entering the Tham Luang cave in Chiang Rai on June 23. They were found on July 2 by divers, but it took another week to devise a plan to extricate the boys and their 25-year-old assistant coach.
