Copter crash kills three Thai business people and Czech pilot

FOUR people – three Thai nationals and the Czech pilot – have been killed in a helicopter crash over a factory in the west of the European country.

The four-seater Robinson R44 Raven helicopter went down in an industrial zone in a suburb of the town of Plzen on Wednesday, resulting in the death of a Czech businessman and three foreigners – two men and a woman, police spokeswoman Dana Ladmanova told CTK news agency. 
The three Thai business people were later identified as Chanathip Surachaisittikul, chairman of Thai Subcontracting Promotion Association and president for Thai Technology Evolution president; Chanpim Sarutanon, marketing manager for Medica Technology Co; and Ekkarat Lekpornprasert, marketing executive with CS Engineering Autoparts Co.

The pilot of the privately owned helicopter was identified as Workpress Aviation CEO Bohumil Doubek.
Chanathip, whose death was confirmed yesterday by CTK, had joined a group of 14 Thai business representatives in a September 3-8 trip to Germany and the Czech Republic arranged by the Thailand’s Board of Investment’s Frankfurt branch office to study business potential in the aviation and medical equipment industries.
