Regulation to establish Royal Security and Special Operation Command published in Royal Gazette

The ministerial regulation for formal establishment of the Royal Security and Special Operation Command was published in the Royal Gazette on Monday.

The new command comprises an administration division, the 1st to 6th royal security divisions, the analysis and special tool division, the special operation division and the royal security patrol division. The new entity under the Royal Thai Police's’ Central Investigation Bureau is to mainly support operations to provide security to His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn, Royal Family members of Phra Ong Chao rank and above and their royal representatives, as well as royal guests.
Adhering to the Criminal Procedure Code and other criminal offence-related laws, the command also will perform tasks as assigned by His Majesty.
It will coordinate with state agencies in security details, including inspection of the locations and routes for royal visits, as well as proceeding with intelligence-gathering works against those individuals or groups with behaviours threatening national security and the monarchy.
