Garbage for some, gold for others
Scavengers were overjoyed to find piles of damaged furniture and other discarded items in Bangkok's Bang Phlat area yesterday.
In fact, there were so many discarded items that Bang Phlat traffic police had to put up barricades to make way for Bangkok Metropolitan Administration officials to collect the garbage. However, the scavengers said these disposed items were valuable and could help them earn extra money.
Meanwhile, Pojaman na Pombejra, the exwife of former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra, set up a tent on Sirindhorn Road near the Tang Hua Seng Mall to hand out lunchboxes to floodaffected residents yesterday.
