Swedish suspect, girlfriend nabbed
Thai police have arrested a Swedish man accused of being involved in at least two robberies in his homeland, along with his Thai girlfriend while they were partying - allegedly on crystal meth - in Pattaya, where the man was said to have "laid low" for
Bo Peter Soderback, 40, and girlfriend Wannapa Singprakon, 25, were arrested in their apartment on Sunday night by the Children and Women’s Protection Centre Police in Region 2 (Chon Buri), following complaints that foreigners and Thai women were abusing drugs and having a loud party in Soi Bon Kai.
Police also seized drug-taking tools, an English passport that had been reported lost and a fake driving licence. The couple also underwent a urine drug-test, which revealed a positive result.
Swedish police said Soderback may have been involved in a Swedish money truck robbery in 2008, in which robbers used war weapons and got away with Bt300 million in cash, as well as another Swedish company robbery in which robbers used a helicopter and got away with hundreds of millions of baht worth of cash. Police initially charged Soderback with taking narcotics, forging and using a fake passport, and illegal entry.
