'Professional' thieves get away with Bt700,000 from ATM machine

Police suspected the bandits, who Wednesday morning pried open an ATM machine of Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives (BAAC) in Surat Thani's Tha Chana district and got away with Bt700,000 cash, were professional.

 

Following the robbery report at 7am, Tha Chana superintendant Pol Col Chinnawat Premsanga led team to inspect the scene and found traces showing that the bandits brokein via the bank's back door and cut all the CCTV system and the Internet connection before cutting open the ATM to take out four cash boxes. 
The investigation found the bandits stole Bt700,000 because there were Bt2 million cash and Bt1.3 million were withdrawn by customers. Police also found an employee uniform shirt and a pair of rubber gloves near the machine. Later at 10am, police retrieved three cash boxes in a palm plantation and footstep traces.
Chinnawat siad the bandits seemed to be professional with technology expertise because they cut all CCTV system first and might not be locals.
