	The fire, thought to have stemmed from a cooking accident, on Friday killed 37 people, injured dozens of others and left some 2,000 homeless.</div>

	Army chief General Prayuth Chanocha said he had instructed Army Region 3 to dispatch soldiers to urgently aid the victims in this most unfortunate event. He hoped the tragedy would be a lesson for people &ndash; to be cautious in daily activities to prevent fires in the future.&nbsp;</div>

	Prayuth also commented that, although Thailand observed humanitarian principles to aid war refugees, national security agencies wondered whether to repatriate these people on a voluntary basis, as they had stayed for a long time and their country of origin was now relatively calm.</div>

King sends relief to victims of refugee-camp fire

His Majesty the King graciously ordered 500 bags of relief to be delivered yesterday to refugees left homeless by a fire at Ban Mae Surin camp in Mae Hong Son's Khun Yuam district.
