Observed on the full-moon day of the sixth lunar month, Visakha Bucha marks the birth, enlightenment and passing of Buddha. The day falls on May 24 this year. 
	Tongthong Chandransu, permanent secretary for the PM&rsquo;s Office, said yesterday that the National Buddhism Office would hold several activities at the Buddhamondhol Park from Monday to next Friday. 
	He added that several other organisations were also planning activities for the week. 
	He said the activities would be dedicated to Their Majesties the King and Queen, other members of the Royal Family as well as the Supreme Patriarch, who is turning 100 on October 3.

Princess to launch Visakha celebrations

HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn will launch Buddhism Promotion Week at Sanam Luang this Saturday as part of celebrations for Visakha Bucha Day.
