Apple computer from 1976 auctioned for 666,000 dollars

Berlin - One of the first computers Apple ever made was auctioned off in Germany on Saturday for 516,000 euros (666,000 dollars).

The original Apple 1 computer from 1976 is one of only six in the world known to still be functioning.
It was sold to an anonymous buyer in Asia, said Cologne auction house Breker, which sold an Apple I computer for 490,000 euros last year.
The Apple I was assembled by co-founders Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak in Jobs' parents' garage. It had neither a monitor nor a keyboard, consisting only of a motherboard.
Wozniak's signature is on the computer sold Saturday and came with documentation signed by Jobs. Its price at the time was 666.66 dollars.//DPA
