Two Hmong youth 'arrested with yaba'

Provincial Police Region 5 yesterday announced the arrest of two Hmong men in Chiang Rai's Muang district on Friday and seized 300,000 yaba tablets from them.

The duo, Sucahrt Saeya, 23, and Saensam Saelee, 20, reportedly confessed to police that they had been hired by another man, identified as Pongsathorn Panachantra, to deliver the drug, hidden in dog food sacks, to a customer in Bangkok in exchange for Bt2 million payment. Police said the duo had confessed to successfully delivering 30,000 yaba tablets for Bt200,000 on an earlier occasion.
The duo’s car was accompanied by Pongsathorn’s car but he fled the scene. His car crashed into a roadside traffic sign in Wiang Chiang Rung district and he escaped.
