Students join True camp to become 'agents of change'

Nearly 100 students are taking part in a five-day camp to learn leadership skills under a project that seeks to turn them into agents of change to help make communities better.

The students come from 30 schools that sailed through the first round of the True Plookpanya project.
“Our project attracted applications from 84 schools this year,” said Dr Kantima Kunjara na Ayutthaya, True Vision’s corporate communications director.
True Corp’s seventh True Youth Camp was organised in collaboration with the National Science Museum (NSM). The camp, which kicked off on Tuesday, is designed for Mathayom 4 and Mathayom 5 students. Activities include workshops and mini-marathon to name just two.
“The key message at the camp is that we need to develop better communities for the future,” Kantima said.
From the 30 teams, only 10 will be chosen for the final round. The finalists will be required to create projects that develop and change their communities in a month. Each team will be provided with Bt8,000.
The team with the winning project will be awarded a plaque of honour, a year’s membership of NSM magazine, True Plookpanya stamp and a Bt20,000 cash reward.
