Chon Buri shelter head moved to Bangkok

Chon Buri shelter head moved to Bangkok

Social Development and Human Security Minister Pavena Hongsakul has issued the transfer order to chief of the Chon Buri Home for Children and Family.

This follows an allegation that a rape took place in the state-funded shelter and involved a four-year-old girl.
Chief of the shelter is transferred to Bangkok and subjected to a disciplinary investigation by a committee chaired by the ministry's permanent secretary, Pavena said. Whether he would be dismissed depends on the investigation. At this point, the chief showed negligence, by letting males aged over 12 years into the shelter which is the place for children under 12.
She said that this is a serious mistake and wrongdoers must be punished.
Tomorrow, she will visit the girl who is now hospitalised. The ministry has handed the girl's mother Bt10,000 for initial treatment cost. On September 2, chiefs of all state-funded shelters in 77 provinces are called for a meeting, to prevent another mishap.
"We need a big operations," she said on Saturday.
At 9pm of August 30, the arrest warrant was issued for Noi Khamsri, 57, who was alleged of raping the girl.
